Ferrara Arte is a foundation that was created for the purpose of organizing exhibitions of international significance following in the city’s tradition as a centre of art and culture.
The iconic symbol of Ferrara, this majestic fortress boasts towering walls encircled by a moat, warm terracotta bricks, and elegant white balustrades. Within its historic walls lie former prisons and lavish rooms once devoted to courtly entertainment and leisure.
From miniatures to sculptures, from the Renaissance frescoes of the Hall of the Months to Baroque painting, from ceramics to medals— this collection offers a multifaceted narrative that showcases the beauty and richness of Ferrara’s most important civic museum.
Established to document the history of Ferrara’s most significant religious monument, the Cathedral, this museum showcases numerous masterpieces that bear witness to the city’s Renaissance splendour.
A magnificent example of a 16th-century noble residence, the building was once surrounded by splendid gardens that connected it to other structures known as the Casini di San Silvestro.
Built in the 15th century, it was enhanced in 1572 with a system of gardens that linked it to the Palazzina Marfisa d’Este and Palazzo Schifanoia. Today, it houses the direction of the Musei di Arte Antica.
A museum dedicated to the exploration and study of one of the greatest filmmakers of the 20th century, reflecting his unique cinematic vision as well as his intellectual and aesthetic pursuits.
